David Janes
David Janes’s art practice considers wood, books, and the nature of the art object—where ludic intent meets manic humour: the long haul, the short laugh. Currently researching anarchist heretical cults of the medieval era, he has exhibited widely across the Points West region. The drawings presented in Flight Paths are selected from a larger body of work,1000 Aeroplanes, for which he systematically "corrected" the illustrations in Douglas Rolfe’s Aeroplanes of the World. The complete set was first exhibited in an exhibition, I Forgot Much More Than I Ever Knew at Bath Spa University in September 2024.
